Continuance Policy
1. All continuance requests shall be in writing, except in cases of emergency. The Court has a suggested form, but this is not mandatory.
2. The writing must state the grounds of the request and show that a copy was provided to opposing parties.
3. In all cases the Judge, or his/her designee, is authorized to grant or deny continuances.
4. If a continuance is granted it shall be the responsibility of the moving party to notify all own witnesses/opposing party of the continuance.
5. A request to continue a case that has not been previously continued will have a greater chance of being approved than a request to continue a case that has been previously continued. Last minute requests for continuances are rarely granted.
